Francois Nicolas Fagel, a prominent Dutch military commander and statesman, is depicted in this striking 17th century portrait. Born in 1655, Fagel rose through the ranks of the Dutch military, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic acumen. He served in various military campaigns during the late 17th century, including the Franco-Dutch War and the Nine Years' War.
