Colonel Newcome adapted by Michael Morton (1864 11 January 1931) from W. M. Thackerays novel The Newcomes (1853-5). First produced at His Majestys Theatre in London, on 29th May 1906. The artist is Chas (Charles) A. Buchel ). H. Beerbohm Trees Co. touring to the Lyceum in Edinburgh on 24th September 1906. The Colonel, played by Tree, was the novels most loveable character. He is shown in the uniform of the Bengal Light Cavalry at Lady Farehams ball. Date: 1906
