Lord Salisbury, who was appointed Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the House of Lords after the last General Election, recently became Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations when General Lord Ismay relinquished the Cabinet post to become first Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. Lord Salisbury is 58 and the present head of Britain's most famous political family. He is a lineal descendant of the great Lord Burghley who served as Minister to Queen Elizabeth I in the 16th century.
