"Victory Parade: A Spectacular Display of Historic Vehicles" In a grand celebration of triumph and resilience, the Victory Parade showcased an incredible array of vintage vehicles that once played pivotal roles in various chapters of history. The parade was a testament to the indomitable spirit and unwavering determination that led to victory. Leading the procession was CJ9 9812, driven by Mike Gurr, proudly displaying the iconic Ford Universal Carrier No2 Mk2. Its sturdy presence symbolized the strength and unity that brought about success. Following closely behind was CJ9 9667, guided by Mike Cotton, featuring the Leyland TLM Metz Turntable Ladder Fire Appliance. This remarkable machine served as a reminder of those brave firefighters who risked their lives to protect communities during challenging times. Amidst cheers from onlookers came CJ9 9671, steered by Tony Brooks with his magnificent 1939 Dennis Fire Engine. Its gleaming red exterior evoked nostalgia for an era when these engines were at the forefront of firefighting efforts. Another gem from yesteryears graced the parade - CJ9 9675 commanded attention with Derek Evans at its helm; this stunning 1929 Dennis Fire Engine had once safeguarded Borough of Hove's streets. Adding charm to this historic spectacle was CJ9 9676 - Portsmouth Corporation Liveried Bedford OWB - radiating elegance as it traversed through cheering crowds. Its vibrant colors mirrored joyous celebrations marking victory over adversity. A true marvel rolled forward next: Philip Marfleet drove CJ9 9677 showcasing a majestic Leyland Titan Tower Wagon from 1933. This towering vehicle stood tall as a tribute to hardworking individuals who built cities brick-by-brick. In honor of those who selflessly protected their communities during wartime emergencies, East Preston ARP's Austin Seven (CJ9 9679) made its way down the parade route.
