Trevor Ireson: A Legendary Sidecar Racer For over four decades, it has left an indelible mark on the world of sidecar racing. From his early triumphs to his later achievements, he has consistently showcased his skill and passion for this exhilarating sport. In 1969, a young Trevor Ireson teamed up with G C Hunt to compete in the 750 Sidecar TT race. Their Triumph-powered machine roared across the track, leaving spectators in awe of their speed and precision. This was just the beginning of a remarkable career that would see him become one of the most respected names in sidecar racing. Throughout the years, Ireson continued to push boundaries and break records. In 1971, he once again joined forces with G C Hunt for the 500 Sidecar TT race. Riding a Triumph motorcycle this time, they demonstrated their unwavering determination as they conquered every twist and turn of the challenging course. Ireson's partnership with Clive Pollington proved to be another winning combination. Together, they claimed victory at Union Mills in 1982 during an intense sidecar race that had fans on the edge of their seats. Their Yamaha-powered machine showcased not only their technical expertise but also their ability to work seamlessly as a team. The list goes on - from Derek Plummer & Mick Neal (Konig) in 1976 to Kenny Howles & Rob Parker (Trevor Ireson) in 1993 - each collaboration brought new challenges and triumphs for Ireson. Whether it was riding alongside Dave Houghton or Nick Smith or Bill Boldison or D Lockett – he always gave it his all. Ireson's dedication paid off time after time at prestigious events like the Sidecar TT races held annually on Isle of Man's treacherous Snaefell Mountain Course.
