Amidst the backdrop of the Falklands War in 1982, the Directorate, an allegorical figure of Justice, dons the uniform of the Directoire era, reminiscent of the Royal House of the Post Office in Madrid's Puerta del Sol. In the same vein, the Comte de Barras, once a Director during the Directoire (1795-1799), is depicted in costume. Fast forward to the present day, the Directorate takes on a new form as the Headquarters staff of the AID Military Aeronautics Directive (AID-MAD) convenes for an All Hands meeting with the Associate Administrator for the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD).
