In 1959, he showcased his talent by triumphing in the Lightweight TT aboard his REG bike. This was just the beginning of a remarkable career that would see him achieve greatness in various races. In 1960, riding for Bianchi, Derek Minter once again emerged victorious at the Lightweight TT, proving his prowess on different machines.
