His intellect attracted attention from powerful individuals like Philip II himself. Machiavelli's name echoed throughout Europe during this period as well. His groundbreaking work "The Prince" sparked controversy with its pragmatic approach to politics and governance. Mallad Hinchliff was among those captivated by Machiavelli's ideas, further fueling intellectual discourse across borders. As minds pondered political theories and strategies for power consolidation, Urban Gaubisch crafted an original map depicting the Battle of Lepanto that occurred in October 1527. This cartographic masterpiece provided invaluable insights into historical events unfolding on land and sea.
