illustration to Falconer's 'The Shipwreck' (1811 ed., f.p.xlvi)'. The third of a series of ten, of which the collection holds nine (PAF5913-21). The printed description of the plate based on it, probably written by Pocock, reads: ' The Bay and Town of Candia, taken from the North-West. The Ship appears under weigh: the Top-sails are hoisted: the Yards braced, ready for casting; to accelerate which, the Jib is set: the Anchor appears in sight, the Catblock hooked, and the Seamen forward, hauling it to the Cathead.'
