THE CHILDREN IN THE WOODS (BABES IN THE WOODS) First published as a ballad by Thomas Millington in Norwich in 1595, telling the traditional childrens tale of two children in the care of their uncle who are abandoned in a wood, die from neglect and are covered with leaves by robins. Folklore has it that the story originally took place in Wayland Wood in Norfolk, England
