In this photograph, taken on July 29,2005, at the Ajax Arena in Amsterdam, Philippe Senderos of Arsenal Football Club lifts the trophy in celebration after scoring the only goal in Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Ajax in the Amsterdam Tournament. The tournament, an annual pre-season competition, brought together some of Europe's top football clubs, providing an excellent opportunity for teams to test their mettle against international opposition. Senderos, a Swiss international defender, had only joined Arsenal the previous summer from Swiss Super League side Grasshopper Club Zürich.
